Resolutions...

Do you have a new year's resolution? Is there anything that you would like to change or just do this year? Resolutions can lack substance, but they can be really great. I know some people who are trying to take big steps like:
-
confront my boss
- don't be such a pushover
These can be big tasks and take a while to accomplish - but take your time and keep at it!
I also know some who just want to do something new. For instance:
- bake a pie
- take a trip
Whether it's work related or personal, try to make a promise to yourself this year to do that thing that you have always wanted to do.
So what are some good resolutions that might be related to your web site?
- Get
online - this is a very good one. In this digital world to not be
online is to shoot yourself in the foot. If you can get online you understand
a little bit of where the world is going as well as take advantage of
the efficiency of communicating and gathering information on the Web.
- Get an email address - oh my goodness...there are still a lot of people and small businesses who do not have email. Some don't want it, some are procrastinators, and some are just scared of it! Either way it is a very important medium. Some 75% of households have a computer so most of your target market will have email. It is a wonderful, and simple, method of communication!
- Get a web site - if some of my friends and family didn't know...well...me...they would be in trouble. Getting a web site is a hard thing to do. So many people either don't know what they are doing, they charge you too much, don't give you what you want and provide poor customer service. I know that it can be overwhelming and you might not know what to do...so just ask a lot of questions before you pay anyone. Or, try to find someone that knows what they are doing that will call for you and ask questions.
- Cross marketing - if you understand that a web site will not get you a ton of business by itself then you are a step ahead. Cross marketing is important to the success of your Web site. Put your domain name on your business cards, letterhead, brochures - everything! This will help get your name out there in front of people. Many potential customers will want to look you up on the Web before calling to discuss your product or service.

So, do you want to hear my resolution for 2003? Stay stress free! Yeah yeah - not possible right? But I can try to be stress free as much as I can. It is just a little reminder and maybe when I feel myself getting stressed - I might think of this and change!
